The Construction of the Mother Cathedral reflects the beginning of a new era within the life of the Western Diocese and her faithful. The construction project of the Mother Cathedral will strengthen the foundations of the Western Diocese in many ways, as the construction will be a witness to the fact that within the past 100 years the children of the Armenian Church who have survived the Genocide and migrated to this far land of the United States, have made every sacrifice to persist in their Christian spiritual life. Thus, the Mother Cathedral will be the reflection of our service. The Mother Cathedral will undoubtedly be the testimony of our faith and love, especially for the future generation.

The Mother Cathedral will be the sanction of God. Through our participation in the building of the Mother Cathedral we will be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and be one in Christ. “In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit” (Ephesians 2: 21-22).

Participation in this mission reflects a life with the faith of our forefathers, turning this Cathedral into a source of inspiration for the entire faithful of the Diocese. It is vital that every faithful of the Western Diocese bring a part of his spirit into the Mother Cathedral. Our Cathedral will only become stronger with our maximum participation. The Mother Cathedral which has turned into a vision in our spirits will turn into the spiritual magnet where the Diocese will be kneaded with her faithful, foresight, and all those projects which provide our Christian lives with meaning.
A prominent nineteenth century poet, Khatchadoor Abovian has inspired many generations with the following message: “Have courage to learn ten languages but hold to your mother language and Faith” Surely our language and faith bear the stronghold of our perpetuity.

We would like to end our message by a quote from a distinguished spiritual leader of the Armenian Church: “The Church is sacred and should serve a sacred mission. The true mission of the Church is to preach the Word of God and to spread the teachings of the Armenian Church to her faithful, thereby strengthening their spirituality, nationalism, and love of their Motherland. The Church also serve to inspire her faithful by giving them hope, strengthening their faith, and guiding them to become exemplary citizens of the United States of America”.
